Volkswagen Remote Start

Remote starters have been around for a while, much longer than smartphones. Early systems were expensive and cumbersome, but eventually the cost came down enough that a lot of manufacturers started offering them as a factory option; they just needed to add a button to the included keyfob. Volkswagen has long been one of those manufacturers, and if your keyfob has a “2X” button, it can be used to remote start your vehicle. But if you have a 2020 or newer Volkswagen vehicle, there is the myVW app. The app gives vehicles equipped with a remote start a considerable range boost, allowing you to remote start your vehicle from much further away than the keyfob will reach. Not only that, but the app has quite a few other useful features.
