What's New for 2026
Several exciting updates have been made to the dynamic Volkswagen ID.4 for the 2026 model year. In terms of performance, last year’s entry-level battery pack has been discontinued. This means that all ID.4 models now come standard with the larger 82 kWh battery pack. In other news, the ID.4 now comes standard with a Volkswagen North American Charging System (NACS) DC adapter that provides access to the nationwide network of Tesla Supercharger DC fast charging stations. Also standard for 2026 is the innovative 2-in-1 Mobile EV Charging Cable, previously offered as an accessory. Last but not least, Pro S Plus models now come standard with a HomeLink® rearview mirror.

AWD variants will offer an increase in power, boosting the total to 335 horsepower. Even more impressive, the ID.4 has a maximum towing capacity of up to 2,700 pounds. Charging Innovations
Making the switch to all-electric driving with the Volkswagen ID.4 means that you’ll never have to waste time and money at the gas station ever again. At home, you can charge the ID.4 using an L1 charging cable or at an installed L2 wallbox charger that can achieve 33 miles of range in about 1 hour. When you’re on the go, a DC Fast Charging station can provide you with 60 miles in about 10 minutes, or go from a 10% to 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes. 2 years of an Electrify America Pass+ membership with Plug & Charge is included as standard on every ID.4. An ever-expanding network of more than 25,000 chargers nationwide means that range anxiety is a thing of the past.
