A number of exciting updates have been made to the all-electric Volkswagen ID.4 for the 2024 model year. Most notably, the larger 82 kWh battery receives a significant performance boost. Single motor variants now crank out 282 horsepower while dual motor AWD models crank out 335 horsepower, major improvements from last year. Naturally, total range figures have improved with the ID.4 now delivering up to 291 miles of total driving range in select trim levels. Volkswagen has addressed the complaints and criticism with the infotainment system of the ID.4. As a result, 2024 models benefit from a new infotainment system featuring faster responsive times, more intuitive operation, and a larger touchscreen display.

The total system output of the ID.4 is a balanced 201 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque with the standard 62 kWh battery and 282 horsepower and 402 lb-ft of torque with the larger 82 kWh battery pack. An optional all-wheel-drive system includes a second electric motor at the front wheels for quicker acceleration and intelligent handling that distributes power where it’s needed the most. AWD variants will offer an increase of power, boosting the total to 335 horsepower. Even more impressive, the ID.4 has a maximum towing capacity of up to 2,700 pounds.
